At Pembridge CE Primary School, our curriculum is centred around eight key skills: try new things, work hard, concentrate, self-motivate, imagine, improve, understand others and don’t give up. By embracing these, we enable all our children to engage in an inspiring, enjoyable curriculum with a greater understanding of how they are able to succeed and achieve their very best.
The curriculum should be involving, so that in working with parents and carers we can help to shape each child's learning, to motivate and to enthuse. Our termly Learning Together newsletter is full of advice and strategies to help your child develop skills and confidence in areas of learning which can be difficult.
We know that learning should be an enjoyable voyage of discovery and to that end, we pursue a variety of teaching and learning strategies which are matched to and develop individual pupils’ abilities, aptitudes and skills. Our curriculum is distinctive, building on the strengths and expertise of our staff, the interests and predisposition of learners and the rich local resources that Pembridge has to offer its community.
We believe that the curriculum should meet the needs of all children and therefore strive to ensure that the needs of all learners are met, regardless of where they are in their learning journey.
Our curriculum ensures that all aspects of the most recent Primary National Curriculum are taught in a way that is enriches and equips each of our children with the skills, knowledge, understanding and values of modern life.
The whole school community values the Pembridge way of teaching and learning. We have high expectations which are evident in every classroom and spaces around the school. You can view our essentials by clicking on these links: READING WRITING MATHS
